Depart from Phnom Penh to Phnom Chisor Mountain. Climb the 100-meter
hill to enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding plains and a
visit to the 11th century Brahman temple. Visit a silk weaving
village before proceeding to Takeo. Take a boat from Takeo to Phnom
Da (please note that the speedboat does not have a cover or any
shade – hat and sun tan cream essential). Visit Phnom Da temple, a
pre-Angkorian laterite tower (6th century) and Asram Maharosei (6th
century), an Indian-style sandstone temple constructed in a style
unlike any other temple in Cambodia (the climb up is easy as this
particular Phnom ‘hill’ is not very high. The path up to the temple
is steep, over some big rocks).Enjoy a picnic lunch at the site.
Return to Takeo by boat and drive back to Phnom Penh. En route,
visit the Prasat Neang Khmao, the temple of the Black Virgin (10th
century). Stop at Tonle Bati and visit Ta Prohm temple (12-13th
century) and Yeay Peau temple (12th century). Return to Phnom Penh.
Visit the Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong), a lively outdoor
market where you will find antiquities, silver and gold jewelry,
gems, silk, kramas, stone and wood carvings, as well as T-Shirts,
CDs and other souvenirs.

Depart from Phnom Penh to Phnom Chisor Mountain. Climb the 100-meter
hill to enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding plains and a
visit to the 11th century Brahman temple. Constructed of laterite
and brick with carved lintels of sandstone, the complex is
surrounded by the partially ruined wall of a 2.5m-wide gallery with
windows. Inscriptions found here date from the 11th century, when
this site was known as Suryagiri. The wooden doors to the sanctuary
in the center of the complex, which open to the east, are decorated
with carvings of figures standing on pigs. Inside the sanctuary are
statues of the Buddha. There is a spectacular view of the temples
and plains from the roofless gallery opposite the wooden doors to
the central shrine. Near the main temple is a modern Buddhist Vihara
used by resident monks

Depart Phnom Penh for Udong. Visit the various temples and the three
large stupas where the ashes of three former kings are preserved.
Next, visit the most impressive structure of the site, the "Vihara
of the 18-Cubit Buddha".
Picnic lunch will be served on the site. En route back to Phnom
Penh, stop to visit the silversmith village of Kampong Luong.
Kompong Cham-Chhup

Depart from Phnom Penh by road to Kompong Cham (124 km. The drive
takes around two hours). Visit Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple
and modern style pagoda (12th century). A short tour of Kompong Cham
includes examples of colonial architecture.
Lunch at local restaurant.Drive to Chhup, a rubber plantation
established in the region by the French tyre maker, Michelin. Return
to Phnom Penh.
