DAYS LHASA - THE ROOF OF THE WORLD IN WINTER

Tibet - the roof of the world - its majestic
landscape and interesting culture make this one of
the world’s most alluring destinations.
Traveling to Tibet in Winter gives you a total
different experience. All nomads come back during
this time and you see the whole city lit up with
vibrant colors. Of course this itinerary also allows
you to appreciate Tibet’s unique heritage, religion,
life-style and arts.
Day 01ARRIVE LHASA
Fly to Lhasa via Xian or Chengdu on China Eastern
Airline.Upon arrival in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital,
you will be met by your local guide and drive about
1.5 hours to the city, check into your choice of
hotel.At an altitude of 3500 meters, it is advisable
to take it easy for the rest of the day for better
acclimatization. You can enjoy a leisurely 1 hour
orientation drive around Lhasa city before dinner.

Day 02LHASA
This morning, you will tour Potala Palace - listed
as an UNESCO world heritage site. It dominates the
city of Lhasa and is perhaps the most famous
landmark of Tibet. In the afternoon, you will visit
the Jokhang monastery - the "central cathedral", and
then watch monks debating at Sera Monastery, which
is one of the best-preserved monasteries in Tibet.
Next you have free time for shopping in Barkhor -
the bustling market in the heart of old Lhasa with
its narrow streets.

Day 03LHASA
You will drive to Yamdrok Lake in the morning and
enjoy the beautiful scenery. You then come back to
Lhasa in the afternoon to visit the Norbulinka.

Day 04DEPART LHASA
This morning, you can walk around the interesting
Ramoche Temple area, north of the Barkhor. Then
there will be a visit the excellent Lhasa museum. In
the afternoon you will transfer to the airport for
the flight back home.
