Upon arrival, you
would be met and transferred to hotel.
This afternoon, we visit the Tribal Research Institute on the
Chiangmai University for the hilltribes museum before spending
our time at Doi Suthep situated on a hill overlooking Chiangmai
and the surrounding valley.
Tonight, you will be treated to a traditional Khantok dinner
with cultural performance.

In the morning,
visit the famous handicraft village and factories where you will
see the local silk and cotton weaving industry and observe how
deft fingers transform bamboo, paper, silk and paint into
beautiful umbrellas and learn more about the skills in
woodcarving and how to make lacquered boxes and silverware.
The afternoon is free at leisure. |

Upon arrival, meet
and transfer to hotel.
Mae Hon Son is a peaceful township and the center of the
hilltribes of Northern Thailand. This afternoon, visit the
Burmese style temples, Wat Jong Kham and Wat Jong Klang which
houses 100 year-old glass paintings and woodcarvings from Burma.

Have a leisurely
breakfast at hotel followed by a full day of soft adventure and
culture. We enjoy a long-tailed boat trip along the Pai River
before riding on an elephant ride through the jungle. The
highlight of the day is a visit to the Long Necked Karen Hill
Tribe. These "giraffe women" wear numerous brass rings around
their elongated necks, an extraordinary sight!
Return to town and in the late evening, visit Wat Phra Dhat Doi
Kong Moo, a hilltop temple for a beautiful view of the little
town. |
