DAYS, NORTH WEST LOOP

ITINERARY:
DAY 01: HANOI - MAICHAU - MOCHAU (L,D)
Drive to Mai Chau, approximately 150 km from
Hanoi, home to several ethnic minorities,
particularly the White Thai and Muong ethnic
group. Their traditional stilt houses are large
structures with palm leaf roofs and polished
bamboo floors. The kitchen is located in the
center of the house; the cooking as well as the
weaving of the colorful tho cam, the material
used to make their clothes, takes place there.
Visit Thai ethnic minority village. Lunch en
route. Visit Thai ethnic; visit waterfall; cave;
hot-spring bath; traditional village; rice
field...),Flower H’Mong and Green H’Mong. Arrive
in Son La and check–in. Dinner and accommodation
at simple hotel.
DAY 2: MOCHAU - SONLA - LAICHAU(B,L,D)
Visit Son La Penitentiary before
departing to Dien Bien with visit of Thuan Chau
market. On the approach to Thuan Chau, large
groups of ethnic people may be seen making their
way to and from the market, laden with baskets
of goods. Continue to Laichau, crossing the most
spectacular pass in Vietnam, which is famously
named by local people as Pha Din Pass meaning
“the Heaven and the Earth”. Lunch at local
restaurant. Along the way , visit some local
ethnic families and villages, H'mong with Red "Poompoom". Overnight
in Laichau
DAY 3: LAICHAU - PHONGTHO -TAMDUONG (B,L,D)
Upon leaving Lai Chau we spend a full day
travelling through Vietnam’s most beautiful
mountainous regio n.Continue to Phong Tho on
scenic roads, crossing the junctions of Da and
Na rivers by the way of the Chinese built Hang
Tom suspension bridge. Opportunity to experience
the authentic lifestyle of the Hmong, Black Dao,
Mang hill tribe people. The road conditions are
poor in part, but views of the mountainous
scenery will make up for our effort.Overnight in
Tam Duong.
DAY 4: TAMDUONG - BINHLU -SAPA (B,L)
Depart Phong Tho town to Sapa
along the most spectacular scenery on the way
leading to Sapa. After a couple of hour walk to
visit the Lao, Lu hill tribe people we depart for
Sapa with spectacular views of
the surrounding hills. At an elevation of
1,500 meters, Sapa is a former French hill resort
and home to some of Vietnam’s most colorful ethnic
minority groups. The afternoon is free to explore
the town. Overnight in Sapa.
DAY 5: SAPA (B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel. We then embark on a
lovely trek that will take us along buffalo
paths and trails and through several hill tribe
villages of Lao Chai and Tavan, home to H'mong,
and Dzay people. This is a absolutely
spectacular walk through stunning scenery
inhabited by some of the friendliest people you
can meet. Once on the valley floor you can
really appreciate the wonderful scenery that
surrounds you. The walls of the valley are
covered with multi-layered rice terraces.
Overnight at hotel in Sapa.
DAY 6: SAPA - HANOI(B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit Taphin village and drive back to Hanoi.
Lunch en route.
The trip concluded.
Option: Option to take overnight train to Hanoi.
The train leaves at 21:45 and arrives to Hanoi
at 5h:30am(+1)
