FANSIPAN CLIMBS
6 Days (
4day trek)
Trip code: VNFCB6
At 3,143 metres Mt.
Fansipan is Vietnam’s highest mountain. It is only 9 km from Sapa town
but it takes at least three days to get to the peak and back. The top is
accessible year-round to anybody who is in good shape. As there are no
mountain huts on the way, we will be camping. Our porters carry the
equipment and food. No ropes or technical climbing skills are needed,
just endurance and plenty of energy. The terrain is rugged, wet and
often cold.

Our trip starts with an overnight train journey from Vietnam's capital
city to the border town of La Cai. The train departs at 21:30pm
Day 2: Sapa

the first part of the ascent. We begin with a trek through terraced rice
paddies and some of the villages of the H'mong minority people. Once we

before climbing up to the first peak at an elevation of 2,300. Here we will
set up camp for the night.

Day 3: Trek to second base camp (2,700m)
After our first night on the mountain we
set out for the seven-hour trek to our second camp. As we continue on we
will pass through primary forest containing giant, centuries old pine trees
and expanses of yellow bamboo. Our continuing trek will take us to an
altitude of 2,900m, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we trek
downhill to an elevation of 2,700m, where we set up camp for the second
night within sight of the summit.
(Breakfast, lunch and diner included)
Day 4: The Summit
Following breakfast this morning, we climb to the roof of Vietnam: Fansipan
Peak. The final climb will only take around three hours. Once at the summit
we will spend some time soaking up the best panorama in Vietnam. While
relaxing we will have lunch before descending back to our second camp where
we left our equipment. Here we will spend our third night on the mountain.
